You can call me Beau Matt Compt, or you can call him BMC
People always ask, "BMC, what does it mean?"
Well I just told you.

This is indeed a sad tale.  Can you tell us anything about how it all happened?

i believe it is still usable. just tape it over so it wont get apart.

my friend did the same thing on first throw with his bearing kind

Although I have never played a ripcord, I assume that the cap just popped off in which case you can just pop it back into place. And then just use some electrical tape to hold it on there. I believe the tops were made this way so you can store your string inside.

well first im used to a wooden top. i threw it thumb and pointer near the crown and throw it back and forward. stupid me didnt read the instructions and threw it and it went strait up in the air and landed right on the side. the part that holds the top and bottom broke off.oh, and by the way, im so bad at topping i cant even make a ripcord spin!

I also broke my first ripcord on the first throw, but mine broke where the top is meant to snap together and I was able to save the top by putting electrical tape around the seam of the two halves.  Every top throws differntly so don't beat yourself for not getting the ripcord down right away.  Some tops I am able to throw straight down (like your wooden top) and others I am not.  Don't get too discouraged  you are sure to get it if you keep at it.  Keep on "topping" ;)

It's interesting how so many people have broken ripcords!

I've never broken one. Of course I've never thrown one either ;)

At this speed, when it hits the ground, the top either pop off or unscrew itself... If it is not a one part spintop, I suppose it's only a matter of time before it happens. I also used rubber tape to maintain both halves together.
