On the Spanish forum Cattus linked to a new company that makes aluminum tops, in spite of its name:  Trompos Power Steel

The website claims that they are an established metal manufacturer that recently started a spintop division.  Javier F. mentioned on pulpowsky.com that he gave them some advice on the design.  The tops look like inspired by the Spintastics Hollow Point  :) with a flat cap.

They are all fixed tip and come in two sizes. Depending on size, cap and color they go from 22 to 30 euros.

The "Force Energy Spin (XL)" and "Force Steel Spin (XL) seem to be grooveless.  They offer a couple different tip styles and a significant dimple in the cap.

Perhaps the XL is modeled after the Quick Silver hybrid?

They also offer a nice 3 top aluminum stand.

Well if it comes as some tops that look at first glance are of good quality. I know them for a while, help improve parts like the tip, you can see that point in two versions of the image and version diabolo tip. If it is true that the only problem they have and not much is its size, the pictures look bigger but for my taste are very small, I'll leave a ejemplo.Comparen these images, the phone is a cake iphone 5 and small compared to other smartphones:

Well i am just that you try it and bear your opinion. The positives are that are of good quality and made ??in Spain also offers more variety apart from the tops of space, are also noteworthy that starting slowly can develop better tops as they have very good equipment and the best materials. As negatives becomes what and commented, I understand these spins are initially targeted for the children, for there size.

Just for clarification sake, I like the top.  I am happy they are making the top.  I am excited that the top is out and available.

My "ack" was in connection with the o-ring and the grooves.  Maybe I would have better luck with these o-rings and the grooves but my experience in the past has not been too positive with these extras.

Again, just to make everything absolutely clear, thanks for making this top.  I hope you sell millions and millions of them.

I don't like the top. I see a lot of tops I don't like. And they don't like me. I do like tops that try to kill you.

Sorry for the mixed reactions Javier.  It is wonderful to have a new spin top manufacturer born, and we applaud your efforts to assist them in design.  It is hard to look past the o-ring, it is a huge design mistake in my opinion.  Mike, I may need your assistance in generating an o-ring awareness public service message  ;D

O-Ring Thoughts.
Dropping a trapeze with an O-Ring means the top runs far away very fast. The O-Ring has just too much traction.
Smacking an O-Ring Top into the credenza makes not dents.
Carefully stretched electrical tape over the O-Ring works great.
Teflon O-Rings are available, but I have not tried them yet. Perhaps they will add the weight and cushion but not the traction.

On the other hand, with the traction the top will chase you around the room. Perhaps Cecil would like that element of danger.

maybe the body profile and small diameter crown more closely follows that of the original Chico Yo-Yo Company Delrin Spin Top
