UD spinners
« on: January 27, 2014, 12:03:53 PM »

I was fooling around with my new CYYC ST2.0 top when it fell on a medium-thick carpet with the tip pointing up.  When I picked it up a few seconds later by grabbing the tip, I was surprised it was still spinning strong.  I would had expected the spin to be dead, considering how wide the crown shelf is (compared to the diameter of a tip).  I guess the friction between the delrin and the carpet is low.  It also works well with S8 tops. I don't know if this could be of any use for a trick but I thought it was interesting (but if I had Neff's full head of hair I would try a head grind  :P ).

Coincidentally, Cuper sent me a link to this video.  The interesting part starts atarts at 2:20.

You can borrow my head the next time we are together, which I hope happens this year somehow.

Endearing comment Cecil  :)

Neff, when you come to the Bay Area you will be treated as another King of Trompos.

Your head grind idea reminds me of when Gus tried to spin a top on Kirk's head for a group picture at worlds.
I think Kirk lost a good bit of hair! ;D

Neff,
Not recommended with fabulous hair.  It hurts quite a bit. I was in between tears of pain and tears of laughter.  Head grinds should be done with a hat!
