hello dick and hello everybody

these tops come from the Jura region , once very active in the pipe-making activity , heather used to be the wood for pipes
today the Jura produces most of the wood toys sold in France
these tops are  factory-made, sold in every toy shop in france even in large department stores

very far from Philippe 's production and intention : he who can lower his prices according to his skills in making tops !

thanx for the article

I have the tall one: Didier gave it to me. I was under the impression that it was German (they have similar tops) but now I know it is French.

Lee Valley Tools generally has some tops in its catalog.  From them I bought the wonderful Maxwell top and also some metal pivots/rings to build self winding tops (that I have never used  :-[ )
