Chris Neff has ruined nearly all my tops :-)
« on: October 28, 2013, 12:19:38 AM »

After going to Miamisburg and having Chris teach us how to balance tops, I balanced a few.  I got some beginners luck and got one perfect and improved a few others. The problem is that all these tops were formerly OK (Or so I thought). They now spin longer, are easier to do multiple tricks with one throw and generally more fun.

Now, every top I pick up needs to be balanced. I had no idea how infectious the top balancing disease was, nor how easily the condition would become chronic. I fear there is no cure.

 >:D

I am genuinly sorry and amused at the same time.
When a rough top lands on my hand I immediately think, "I don't have to put up with that."
Just say NO to bad vibes!

this is exactly the kinda thing that keeps me from learning to balance my tops, instead, i just hand them to chris whenever he's in town and say "balance please."

I do like a balanced top; but, having learned from Ta0, a man who will play a top with the tip slanted at a 15 degree angle, balancing has never been a priority for me. The only time I notice really is if I am trying to get a top to stay on a finger tip.

I think Daveid has the right idea. "Chris, balance this for me."

Very true. I guess I am just too lazy to care  ::)
But if given a top that is already well balanced, I can appreciate it.

Haha! "Just say no to bad vibes" :P

I assume that you are just talking about balancing with sticky tack.?

"balance please."
Well, Chris lives too far away from me :(  So I must deal with the symptoms without professional care.

IMHO plumber putty is better. Perhaps because there was some in my tool box. Often the best medicine is the stuff you already have.
