Paris Plages - spinning on the beach?
« on: July 26, 2013, 03:17:00 PM »

Interesting article in USA Today about this event which began July 20th.  It includes free concerts, beachside cafes, ice cream parlors and street performers.  What, you say, beachside?

Yes, you can go to the beach in Paris after all.  For four weeks each year a 1.8 mile stretch of beach appears along the banks of the river Seine.  It is created with barges and 5,000 tons of sand.  They expect 2 million visitors for the event known as "Paris Plages".

I am wondering if the spinners of Paris will make an appearance?

Ahhhh!  I was waiting for that.  The law says these Paris beaches are not to be topless.  Jim should have lots of good stories.  If he doesn't, there still is time to head over to create some.

You are correct, wikipedia specifically mentions that topless is prohibited at Paris Plages.  However, I have seen topless sunbathing on the banks of the Seine, right in the center of Paris . . .
