American Woodturner, Journal of the American Association of Woodturners, August 2013 vol 28, no 4 - has a 6 page article starting on page 48 entitled "The Escoulen School of Woodturning".  It explains how the village industry (woodturning) died out and how it came back and "injected a new energy and optimism into its future.  The article goes on about the first class of students in July of 2012, they were: Dider from Alsace, Guidot from Berlin, Jack from NY but lives in Paris, Philippe from the south of France, Marie-Francoise from Belgium, and Patrice from Marseille.  I am not sure any of these names ring a bell with you but thought I would have you let us know.  Great article about the city, the area and what the school is doing for a area that had fallen on hard times.  The author is Terry Martin from Brisbane Australia
Practice hard and play safe.
