I think getting string can be a problem.  I have been lucky in the past to get string from my friends at Spintastics.  Maybe you can check their website (spintastics.com) and call Valerie.

There is also this guy named Chad out in Nebraska.  He loves making string and getting it to people.  I'm thinking his full name is Chad Lunders.  What a great guy but I haven't talked to him in years.  I will have to look a bit to get more information on him.

Chad Lunders can make some great string.  He reads this forum on occasion, I'll mention this to him when I see him Sunday.

Some folks use mason line from the hardware store.  I think number 21 is about right.  This can become a little soft after a while, but it's cheap and readily available.

I noticed YYN restocked a bunch of colors of their spin top string too.  Get the 60'--you can always cut it if you need to.

He was offering bulk top string (huge spools, 1000' + per spool).  I got two rolls about three weeks ago and it's pretty good stuff.  I don't know if he has any left, but it's worth a try...... ;)

I thought it was interesting that there were huge spools in the background of many of the YYF spin top photos.  I assumed these were what was included in the packaging with the tops.

These must be the same ones you're speaking of.

I've gone to a number of hardware stores with little success.  John Buechele found some decent string at Menard's.  I've gone to a couple of Menard's in Michigan and Ohio and found this same decent top string.

I finded some good sintetic string. But Spanish law about strings for childs toys say that is neccesary was made of 100% cotton. And well twisted cotton string are difficult to find in Spain. I have a fantastics string of "Esparto" but isn't as flexible as I  want.

I just buy a mexican roll of string. I hope it will arrive in two weeks.
