That's cool!
Its a more modern take on Driedels? (I don't know how to spell it)

Would make Yahtzee more fun!

Wow! The collector, Kevin Cook, has the world's largest collection of dice, according to the Guinness World Records. In 2004 it certified he had 11,097 dice but the web counter today is at 42,508  :o.  But, as massive as his collection of dice is, it may not be the largest of teetotums. It is likely that some collectors specializing in them (or in dreidels) have more.  I think it was Alan who found a very large photo collection (Thomas' dice top collection) but the link I had does not work anymore.

By the way, this very interesting one, The Tip Top, has been listed and re-listed in ebay for several months, but nobody has wanted to pay as much as they ask:

I guess he is referring to roulette-type spinners.

I used to have a friend who sold dice and dice related games for a living, and he gave me several "loaded" dice teetotums.  The Toycrafter once made an order of custom dreidels with all "gimel" sides!  I'm not sure if I saved any of them or not?

I'm guessing that "non stationery spinners" might refer to teetotums that have free spinning sections that do not necessarily spin at the same rate as the rest of the teetotum?

The site www.put-n-take.com offers for sale a 6 faced teetotum made out of brass to play the classical "put-and-take" game.  The rules are here.  The interesting thing is that you can submit rules for different game variations. It could be fun to come up with a good new game (sorry, Strip Tease, Drink it Up, Spin the Top have already been submitted  >:D ).

By the way, in Mexico it is still common to find wooden 4-faced versions in the craft markets.

Perhaps this classic.

This very nice racehorse teetotum is currently on Ebay:

It's nice that when you spin it, not only you get a random horse but also a random payout. I have seen other nice ones with the same idea and I think I have printed a patent for it.

I was surprised by the high asking price of $1500 (!) but I don't particularly collect teetotums so I don't have a good idea of it's value.

To date it, I checked the horses (Run Star, Ladkin, Epinard, Black Gold, Zev, Spark Plug, My Own and Sarazen): they were all star horses born in 1919 - 1921. In particular, Zev was the first Kentucky Derby winner to beat an English Derby winner. Ladkin is best remembered for his win over the European star Epinard in 1924.
