My first spinning turning Japanese "Koma"
« on: November 20, 2012, 07:07:25 PM »

I tried to do this in the manner of the top "koma" he has no crown to wind the cord but still runs well, like here in Brazil does not have easy access to various styles of tops that will have the world trying to do my the best possible ...

Very cool top Falvio! 8)

You are showing a lot of diversity in the tops you are creating.

Nice.  One of my first turned tops was koma inspred--It's still a favoriate for the way it feels in hand, but the broad shape made mine ride on the string more than I like.

Yours look good!

It is fantastic how you are making our own collection of tops of the world.

This one could be a koma, there are some shaped that way, but to me it is more a Chinese or Taiwanese top.
The most common Koma is has a flattened shape:

Good turning, Flavio!
Which wood are they turned from?

I love the idea of a self-made collection of world tops, great thinking! Will definitely take inspiration from this...  ;D

Seeing the success of others in creating spin tops is inspiring. I'll have to make it a point to get to work! Thank you for posting.
