Wow!  That is quite a GLOBAL representation!
Great job Ludo!

Given that showing, I don't think "minor" is the correct category for that skill toy.

Are there videos of the event posted anywhere?

I met some guys who participated in this kind of activity in India and Pakistan and they talked about how it was the absolute best fun!  They loved it.  With all those countries there it must have been quite a blast.

"Are there videos of the event posted anywhere?"

well there are plenty of vids on the festival
see here
Le bruit du vent -Dieppe 2012

but hardly any fighter kites are present..the main reason is that the standard size is around 20 inches, no tail, fast moves  and they fly super high.
during a battle-round, the shout "fight" starts when at least the first 150 yards of abrasive line has been released, many cuts take place at 200 yards or higher...it's often very hard to follow at eye sight what is going on !! the lines are soon invisible, all you see is 2 point of colour in the sky.. to make things even more tricky, many kites have a design which mistakes the nose orientation
i'll ask Ludo if he has something in the files

thanx for the interest
