This is a little off topic but I thought I would share it and perhaps get a personal review if any of you spinners out there have been there.  I checked out their website with the hope of finding a T-shirt or Hat but I guess they haven't made any.
Next time I'm in Toronto I will definitely try some tacos.

Well, yes, but they use the spintop as a marketing tool:

This reminds me we have a 2011 food boomerang contest. . . (just one entry so far)

And that is not just any old static top.  It spins when you open the webpage....and continues to spin!

??? Well, yes. It is a traditional attire of the gaucho in winter.

I am still waiting for more entries for the boomerang your food contest . . .

I just found this old thread.  It is exciting to see that we now have two El Trompo restaurants between Miamisburg and Cincinnati.  We ate at one on New Year's Eve and it was packed!!!  Sadly, they did not have any tops there....except for their logo.  When the weather breaks I look forward to doing some outdoor spinning in their patio.

I think these signs are based more on this: https://thetacotrail.com/2014/07/09/four-styles-of-trompo-tacos/
You are right that the signs are there because they sell tacos al pastor. It's not super clear, but I think the design acknowledges that the name trompo for the vertical rotisserie (shawarma in the middle east) comes from its similarity to a spinning top. Or perhaps it's because I see a top everywhere  ;D

Pretty sure that has something to do with it. And a sure sign of severe chronic hyperspinosis. I have it, too.

They did have one of those giant meat spinning things shaped like a top.  I am always fascinated to watch those in action.  Still, the logo definitely is a Trompo.
