double boomerang.......
« on: September 13, 2009, 06:20:28 AM »

hi all
we were at this street arts festival in cergy near paris ready for some spintop action yesterday
we even had sworn that we would not touch any drink containing barley malt
but unfortunately , we couldn't make it to the "discovery stage"- scène découverte because the guy in charge had booked too many numbers !
that's when Ronan/Lapin told me that he didn't care because he had a new
trick ready and he confessed that he had been working on it all summer without telling anyone about it
he made it at the 2nd throw and urged me to post it for you

here it is !

quite elegant , and looks easy   :D

Fabulous, Ronan!

This reminds me of the Japanese guy who used such a double throw to do a tangler with koma tops. Mmm, is tangler next?  :o

I heard that Clement is practicing tops with Lapin and working on learning to do regens. I see a great future for toupie play!

I remember Daveid throwing two tops like that, I'm pretty sure there's a video of it.  And what about the guy who owned the top factory who could throw Five at once?

The guy who threw 5 tops in one hand and 4 in the other was Dr. Wilson, whose story appeared in the same magazine as the owner of the top factory. Of course, he threw the 9 (small) pegtops on the ground. I scanned both articles and are available by clicking on the Yankee magazine in the "papyrus" section or directly here.

Then, there is this Taiwanese (or Chinese) busker:

I don't think I will ever figure out that picture of the unicycle riding multiple top spinning guy.

Congrats to Lapin!!!  Great work with the two tops.

Thank you ! :)
I supposed it has already been made and overtaken, but up to 9 tops ..... geee.
Same story as Mike, the picture as a taste of unanswered questions. A vid of the sixtimed boomerang would rock. And what would rock even more, would be to see at least two additionnal arms growing from is chest to receive landing tops ;) ...

have a good day

There was as fellow from Taiwan at the Juggler's festival several years ago who did a workshop on throwing multiple tops.  He used a fairly big top with a round ball shaped tip - tip was about 1/2" in dia.. tops were about 5" dia.  I was able to get three tops to spin (sort of -if about 3 seconds on one of them counts)  Back home I got three "regular" peg tops going once in a while - but I never even thought of a "multiple boomerang"!  I've got a couple of those big Taiwanese tops in my collection somewhere.
