No, you can use any trick you want. I think they asked for at least 3 regen tricks.

Thanks, hmm that patch shouldn't be a problem to get...  :)

I anticipated a bit and added the whole set of virtual patches to my signature...  >:D

I can now have a look at other patches, it seems I took a taste of patches video applications...

I knew that the patch application was on this site somewhere. I finally found it.

www.ta0.com/papyrus/pdf/toppatchapplication.pdf

Before the Spintastics web site was reworked there were videos of each trick (plus some)
Wait I found them here - https://www.scienceofspin.com/spin-top-tips---videos.html

well first you would choose which patch you wanted to get, the following link is a list of all patches and the links to their respective threads  http://www.ta0.com/forum/index.php/topic,3757.0.html . then you record a video of you performing the required tricks for that patch. then you upload it to youtube or vimeo and post a link to the video in the thread relating to the patch your after, detailing your intention of attaining that patch..........and then.......the long wait  ;D

Freestyle patch - one throw - one minute -  6 tricks at least 2 regen tricks - fixed tip

...

Thanks!!! This was the only one that qualified as the kids were a bit of monstrous when I tried to film!!! All the others didn't have more than 6 tricks!

Good job on your videos yourself!
I'll edit and post the 8 trick most likely tomorrow and I'll need to work on my 16 tricks!

Patches are fun as they force me to work on other tricks than regenerative ones!!!

Cheers! Eager to know if that qualify to add it to my signature!

Great job Xavier! You certainly qualified! That was a great freestyle with lots of variety!
But do you realize you can get the actual physical patch? You need to send a link of the videos to either Dale or Val.
That looked like great family Christmas fun!
By the way, now daveid has competition in tricking while in pajamas!  ;D

Jospin: did you get the physical patches already!

I do ta0 but I wanted to have all of them completed before sending it to them.
I need to edit my 8 trick video and film / be able to do all the tricks for 16 & 24...
Funnily I still cant do repetitive drumbeats :P I'll work on that at some point... Possibly during the xmas vacation I hope =)

I'll also try to setup a flow & a tripod to film myself more. I am amazed at how I progressed from my last video :)
Cheers,

Paxl13, you and I have this in common:

***Funnily I still cant do repetitive drumbeats***

I'm finding out it's all about string management (I think), but I'm workin' on it. ;)

Anyone have any helpful suggestions about doing multiple drumbeats?

I would say clear the string earlier than you would think and when clearing the string pull hard. Clearing the string is when you pop the top up to catch it again. If you wait to long the top turns to much and you end up tangled in string. I hope this makes sense.

Dale told me to send him the enveloppe, that if I was able to pull that freestyle, it's just a matter of time
before I know all the 24 tricks =)

I'll try to send it out during the xmas break :)

And I need to refilm my 8... Will do it slower... I kind of did all the tricks withing 30 sec =) A bit hard to separate with captions !

Thanks for the tip. It makes perfect sense..in my head.  Now to get my hands to co-operate.
