One way bearing is a pretty recent development. In fact it is our own MrYo who recently released the first production top with one way bearing. Duncan has been working on a design for almost two years, perhaps more. I believe the duncan prototype was seen at Worlds in 2009.

Felix won the bearing division at Worlds 09 using the Duncan 1wb prototype. Kyo finished tweaking the design about 1 year ago but Duncan has not gone into production.
