New Spintastics Quicksilver (fixed tip)

Just got these today, and all I can say is wow. What a great top. If you have been anticipating the release of this top I believe that you won't be disappointed. To start they look incredible. I really like the smooth finish with no grooves. The plastic cap is a great improvement in my opinion (and many others here I assume) and I already made this modification to my previous quicksilver. The cap sets in and doesn't move around but it is not snug and therefore requires tape right from the start, but they come with tape already on them. I requested all three of mine to come with tips made by Salvador as this tip makes regenerating more efficient. Where the tip meets the body there is a small lip where the body is a little bigger than the tip. I don't know if this would be true with the stock spintastics tip, or if it is just the different tip. At any rate it's not a problem for me, but perhaps worth noting.








On the throw it spins very smooth in my hand. I went through many tricks like roller coasters, drumbeats, orbits, joker choker, and the top played very well. It regenerates well, and I really like the weight of this top.

Then the real test for me, off the snap start. Off the snap start I went through all the regens I know and this top performed incredibly. I even set personal bests with some regens I've been working on like barrel rolls.

I have been waiting since worlds last year when Dale mentioned these tops, and for me they were definitely worth the wait.

John, thanks for this first review of the new tops from Dale.  This looks to be an expensive week, with raffle tickets, new tops from Spintastics and maybe some new trompos from Spain.  It's great to see all these new innovations coming out for our little corner of the world.

They look awesome, and play awesome, I got mine a few days ago and I already modded it  and it plays even better, in my opinion
I changed the cap to a BK modded cap and I don't know what it is but is the same concept as the modded Bk's or "diet RC's", it plays different, different good
