Airwaves Kite Fest featuring Chicago Fire
« on: April 02, 2011, 06:40:56 PM »

Last year I saw an add on TV shortly after this event happened, and I almost missed it this year.  In West Chester, Ohio near Cincinnati there is a kite festival featuring the amazing Chicago Fire kite team from, obviously, Chicago.  I don't know whether a certain top spinning captain of the kite team will attend this event but since the flying is from noon till 5 pm on both Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10, a possible way to spend the mornings is spinning tops at the University of Cincinnati.

The Airwaves KiteFest page is here.

The Chicago Fire web page is here.

And some flying from last year.

:( I'm leaving for Italy in a week.....so I won't be flying at the Airwaves Kite Festival next weekend.  I'm sad......but I'll be on the Amalfi Coast.....so, sadness is relative.  However, our team (the Chicago Fire Kite Team) will be performing in:
Grand Haven, MI - May 21-22
Milwaukee, WI, - May 28-29
Kenosha, WI - June 4-5
Oshkosh, WI - June 18
Kalamazoo, MI - June 11-12
Chicago - August 13-14
Milwaukee - September 10-11
Wildwood, NJ - September 29-October 1

That's quite a schedule!  Are these kite festivals in each of the various cities?  Competitions?

My boys and their cousin flew kites today on our local beach (Moss Landing, CA).  It was good fun.
