Neither are Rabbits rodents, but they were until 1912.
Thanks Kirk. I was 100 years outdated: I was under the impression that rabbits were rodents!
Around the hotel where we stayed last week, there was a semi-wild family of coatis, which are animals from the same family as racoons (procyonids).
As you can see on the photo, they were not timid about getting into the path of people in search of food. I kick myself for missing the opportunity of taking a photo of them around a spinning top: they are pretty curious so it should have been easy to do. On the other hand, they could have ran away with the top
I did take a photo of one at the beach drinking from a cup with juice!
