I think it doesn't matter. Both tops with me are about the same difficulty.

Yes, there is a slight difference in the tip action between the two.  But to me I see the same motion and the same activity in both the fixed and the bearing.  Personally, I don't think it matters too much.  If you can do one you should be able to do the other.

What makes a difference for me is sweat.  When I have been sweating on stage it didn't matter if it was fixed or bearing........they both would slide........and MUCH faster than I was used to, resulting in quick drops.  I have been hesitant to use this trick in freestyles because of my lubricated arms!

I agree with Darren, but personally I will never be caught doing an arm walker with a bearing top, I think it looks silly.

In the tradition of spinning tops, I think the arm walker should be done with a fixed tip. Made changes to the rules.

I think we removed it in an effort to encourage more people to enter the sport ladder. The "Pick Your Trick" method now allows a player to skip that trick if they are not confident they can do it with a fixed tip.
