I don't recall another solid leather top. Very unique.
The layered construction, with a steel tip going all the way through, reminds me a bit my reinforced-rubber top:

Made of similar material as a car tire. The turner told me that it dulled his tools.

That rubber tire top looks familiar.  I may have one of those in the Don Olney collection.

I doubt it, as this was a one-off made by a Uruguayan turner. But it probably looks familiar because you saw it at my house  ;D
