How wonderful to start the day with this video! Just pure joy (and skill)!

The Zorro is a wonderful trick! I love it! Now I need to learn to do it! I guess it is a wire walker, followed by a MGR-type unwrap and then a complete cable-car. Very nice! It was also nice to see you using the Ultra I sent you ("a tribute to Gerardo").

I have an UV light so I should try the fluorescent string on my videos: it helps visualizing the string and looks cool!  8)

I already said it, but I'll say it again: your style is so smooth! Thanks for posting!

Is that temper for real?  :o :o :o  reminds me of my ex husband.

Great tricks, loved the ring stuff....think I'll actually not throw all of mine ayay from now on and try something like a lasso to merry-go round.  Thanks for the vid!

All part of the product testing, my dear!  Nothing broke, by the way.   ...perhaps it was a bit over the top.  I included that scene because, well, imma bit disappointed by the new imperial, and don't mind folks knowing that.  I wish Flambeau would take a little more pride in their lower price-point products.  After experiencing the quality of the cometas and cinco estrallas, the U.S. version of it is just embarrassing.  That being said, I LOVE Rip Chords!
It has become clear to me I am far too emotional about certain things.

As always very nice, I have thrown a top or two. LOL, I just cant seem to get any regeneration tricks down. Maybe that is why I like bearing tips the most. I look forward to your next video.

Uuuuuf!!!! As a spintop developer, when the process is in such time, it is difficult to add changes.

In my experience, the problem of the crown isn't that, the real problem is the ring. A bit of negative angle in the inner side of it will be resolve the problem.

The air intake it is very difficult to resolve..... cheap! The easy way is retouching the molt of the crown to add the neccesary plastic to close he holes and tabs grooves, but don't forget the circular groove within the body and the crown.

Indeed the plastic tape solution is the best one, and add personality to the top.

And the most critical..... spin well?

About the video. Great snag the zorro! But I appreciate specially your technique to pull the string making a large arc up your hand to avoid string disasters as knots.

Ultra's 5 star Mexican top is great. I buy five extra colours to Baldufado and broken the "Reyes magos" letter :-D

Ps: Reyes magos. In Spain the christmas gifts to the kids are carryng by the three Reyes magos using camels the 5-6 january nigh. So that christmas holidays are longer hear. The schools doesn't open until january 8 as soon.  ;D

Title: Learned Zorro today!
Post by: ta0 on February 23, 2010, 10:58:00 AM
It is a showy trick I will add to my repertoire.

It feels good to learn a new trick while having fun. It is a nice change from working on those hard ones I cannot fully figure out or trying to come up with something new.

I'm glad now I know those Duncan rings serve a better purpose than just putting them around the crown of the top to get them started. Thanks for the inspiration. Those rings I think also come with most Mexican snap caps. One of these days I would like to get a 5 Ultra.(The 1 Gerardo uses.) One of these days also maybe Duncan will be able to use their top slogan again, 'Duncan tops are tops'. Who knows. Though it's quite something that you were able to do the tricks that you did with the newer Imperial.

The most popular trick made with the ring is "El perico al aro".
