Post by: MarkHayward on August 16, 2015, 02:00:25 PM: I have one of those that I got from Dale back in the day. Maybe around 1997? Mine always worked well. The light-up part is centrifugal so it can get funky and need adjustment, but I think it's a cool top.

I have more that a few left over in my inventory. But they are all in storage and since the move is not over getting to them is very low on my priority list. I was at the US Nats when Dale first showed his light yo-yo. That would have been the 1997/1999 time frame. The same circuit card with two button batteries an LED bulb and a centrifugal switch is used in the torch yo-yo and top. I think that the top was a few years after the yo-yo. If Dale has his old price sheets he can pin down the time better.

"Vintage" is a relative term. I will soon be driving a "Vintage" car not because I am so very into old cars but because I am cheap and Georgia law will soon let me have vintage tag on my minivan. :)

Are you saying we could easily make our own!?!? ;D *runs to dig up Sidewinder and Torch yo-yo...
