Hey guys.
I put a quick vid on youtube. Check it out.

We need to have a contest someday where you have to drink the beer first, then spin the bottle. Fastest to a six pack wins?

Wow! You got it spinning really straight! Very good throw!
This is a slightly different technique (tip up) used by Mark at the RIT juggling fest this year:

We need a video of Jon doing it; I believe he invented the trick.

I don't drink beer, so we can make a team: you drink (and pay for them) and I throw them :)
I agree, a bottle spinning contest would be hilarious and fun.

For anyone else attempting this trick make sure you use a beer bottle. I was present once when Jon tried this trick with a soda bottle and the thinner glass used on those bottles did not survive the impact when it was thrown. Lots of glass to clean up ensued. :(

When I first tried this, it was a lot like Mark, with very similar results.
I then came up with a little trick, I took a dowel rod and rounded the end and
Whittle down the other end so I could put it into the bottle.
Basically I made a tip so it would stand up better.
It works great!

Nicely done Dave !!! :)

Genius!
You should patent the beer bottle tip and then organize beer spintop contests at bars around the USA world. I bet bars would be interested as a promotional thing. You could quit your day job (for a second time)! :)

It does spin quite nicely. Thanks for the video and the ideas.

I think Alan Gray made a beer bottle tip as well, but I have not seen it in use.
