In the Mexican Nationals thread https://www.ta0.com/forum/index.php/topic,7080.0.html ta0 introduced the forum to Chido Trompo as one of the five Mexican top companies participating in the contest.   They have assembled a talented set of players, some of which appear in this television segment.

Several players on this show and in the contest performed with larger tops when compared to thoes we might consider the standard size plastic two-piece tops from Mexico.  Here is a snip from the contest video of Yahir's tops with probably the standard size plastic next to a larger one.  It seems some of these larger tops were being passed from one performer to the next as though they belonged to the team and were shared due to limited quantities.

This snip from another video of the event shows the Chido Trompo promotional table with several of those larger tops.

Using closed caption translation on the TV performance video, the larger tops are "more professional" and made of nylon.  The bodies appear to be one piece and hollow (from the bounce sound and open crown).  Are these a production top from their market offering or are they custom made exclusively for their team and promoters?

Yes, Trompos Chido has these Nylon tops for sale. They are made on a manual lathe.
I got this one as a present from the owner:

It's 69mm (~ 2.75") wide and weighs 138 gr. The black O-ring decoration is not usual, most are plain white.
Yahir plays with one even bigger, about 3" wide and just over 200 gr. (also for sale).
I knew they were playing with fixed-tip tops inspired by the shape of the S8 Giulia, but I was surprised how heavy they are.
It plays great. These tops and Gus personal training goes a long way explaining how good the Trompos Chido amateur team (not even Yahir is an employee)  has become.

Nice looking top.  That would make a good Christmas gift.

I wonder what that blue top Yahir is using
It's the newest Chido nylon top, made at Yahir's request. It's over 300 gr, I believe.

I don't have and I haven't played with the new XL Jumbo from Chido Trompo, so I cannot directly compare them. I do have the Chido L Jumbo and the S8 Sara.

I prefer the Sara tip. I think the Chido tip is a little undersized. The tip is the most important part of a top.

The Chido top is one piece of somewhat soft nylon, so pretty much undestructible. The Sara is two pieces (glued?) of harder Delrin: I might be a weakness point.

Edit: My fixed tip Sara just fell hard on the side and separated in two. I just had to press in the cap into the body again and it's like new.

Agree with ta0 for the tip,
Sara is way bigger, robust and visible and of course, S8 changeable tips!
The finition also is nothing to compare, but, there's a but, the price is also to compare!
For me, Jumbo (not sure about the right appellation,i haven't tried the biggest one) is quite balanced, strong, and very nice to use, nylon gives a good resistance to shocks, but be careful to humidity.

I would recommend Chido's for everyday training, and Sara for stage and contests..

I Tottally agree.
well, the size, design, weight, and other elemnts are also important, but where the string is always sliding over the tip.
Not only is the most important part of a top. The tip is the soul of the game of the spinning top.
