it was a good surprise for me in the video that you are using the phosphorescent sphere for the balancing method, very good!

Yes, the phosphorescent ball is not only for aesthetics.

Just for curiosity, about the incredible sensitivity of tops, as for unbalance:
the unbalance wobble you saw in the video was obtained by screwing out one of the grub screws by three turns, and the top was perfectly balanced before.
The thread pitch is 0.8 mm so with three turns the screw was shifted outwards by 2.4 mm.
The screw weighs 0.9 grams and the top weighs 282 grams.
So the center of mass was shifted by
2.4 : (282 : 0.9) = 0.008 mm

So, the center of mass being off centered by just only 8 thousandths of millimetre produced that evident wobble in the video.
With this kind of tops, the good balance is really a matter of thousandths of a millimetre !

I made another couple of malachite tops.
This time I used snakewood instead of ebony, and the tips are recessed instead of external.
I found an expensive malachite ball, I used it for the base of the second top, (that with the red background). I think it was worth because it is noticeably more beautiful than the others I used until now.

I don't know yet... When the tops are ready, I show them to the possible customers, then they decide if to accept the offer or to skip it and wait for the following offers. There is purchase priority for who is longer in the waiting list. But it can take one week or more before I know who will buy them.

Out of curiosity I made a map with the places where I shipped all the tops I made.
They are 65 tops.  25 were never shipped, they are old tops, my personal collection, (the large dot on Italy).
The other 40 tops were sold and shipped. 
There are some concentration areas:  Changchun, China, (8 tops), Singapore, (6 tops), S.Diego, (5 tops), and Beijing, (3 tops).

No way I'm keeping up with the Joneses on any front in this mecca for the ultra-rich. When we stayed in La Jolla shores last winter, 3 different Bentleys passed our condo every day, and $200K+ cars are everywhere. You could easily pay $20-30M for an ocean-view mansion on a bluff above the beach.

No, but, if you are located near San Diego, and if you want, I could ask my clients there their permission to give you their e-mails, so you could meet them. They are two persons and they have my most recent tops. One received four tops from me, the other one has one of my tops.
