Countries quiz
« on: April 17, 2022, 10:32:35 AM »

BonVoyaged.com has a simple online quiz where it shows you an outline of countries and you have 4 options to select the correct name.

https://bonvoyaged.com/can-you-pass-this-world-map-quiz

But the funny thing is that the makers of the quiz made the usual mistake with the name of Colombia:

It was not just a typo on the list of options but also on the description after you answer the question.

Thanks Jorge.

If you like geography games, check out WORLDLE.  It is take-off on the popular word quiz WORDLE, so be sure to insist that you want WORLDLE.

If you play Wordle and are a member of this forum, you will certainly enjoy today’s answer.  I will not say any more so you can enjoy the game.  We can talk more about it tomorrow!!!

This is the link to the game: https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html

Ha! I got it on my 2nd guess! I was lucky with my first guess, with the first letter in the right place and another letter on the wrong place. Then just a little thinking of why you would post this, was the clue that nailed it.

I first thought you were talking about the worldle game that Bill referred to. Found that one on: https://worldle.teuteuf.fr/
Without counting two bad guesses because I didn't understand the instructions, I got it in 3 tries, with this thread also very helpful.

The answer was “WHIRL”.  My son gave me the hint “this may be one of dad’s favorite words.”  I should have gotten it in one but I got enough of the answer to put it together on the second try.  I also tried the clever take-off of worldle.  I enjoyed it.

As it was a words puzzle my first guess was words, what was really lucky.
Today I wanted to try Earl, but needed 5 letters, so I used Early. It was a very good guess, as it had 3 of the letters, two in the right place  :)

Yesterdays country puzzle was Honduras. Guessing Colombia, the distance/direction clue nailed it as located in Central America.

My sons pointed out to me that yesterday was the 1000th Wordle puzzle.  It is amazing how big it has become in such a short time.  It is a great game.  Another great game we have been doing lately is Connections.  It is fun to do it with others.  It stirs up a lot of conversation.
