To remove the bearing using a knife that I put between the bearing and the tip. Then comes easily leveraged. Sometimes I help to get off using a cutting pliers. These pliers have sharp edges.

yeah, a "needle-nose" pliers typically has a round cavity by where the nippers are, perfect for grabbin' bearings.
