I made a 'crown ' for my wooden tops, out of bottle caps.
« on: December 11, 2019, 05:10:29 AM »

Hello folks,
Since I still have a difficult time to boomrang my wooden tops,  I did found a temporaly solution .
Made a crown for my wooden tops,  out of a bottle cap  :)
I  placed the cap on the top,  kept in place with a light screw.
They still spin great, nothing wrong.
They are heavier than my other tops,  but I still want to boomerang them.  So I 'modded ' them.
If it still goes wrong with boomerang,  without the crown,  I intend to keep it this way.
Still need to paint the caps,   to match the tops color. but  that's for this afternoon.

Have a nice day everyone  :)

Very good!  That looks like a clever way to modify those tops.

Thank you!
I have plenty of bottle caps, which I use for many things.  This was easy.

Nice modding!  :)

You could also leave caps unpainted from beer/soda bottles and they can look cool too.
At one time we used standardized tops for our battles that Alan Gray made. To differentiate them we used bottle caps that press-fitted the crown that was sized for that purpose. You got extra points if you knocked a cap of another top!
Mine are in a box somewhere. I really liked for battle one of the caps I used, with a pirate flag. This one I took from an old post by Neff (I believe this is from the 2nd generation which was a little more rounded):

That would be a great idea Ta0  :)
I bet the paint will wear off eventually.  it's pretty difficult to paint plastic.
That sounds like fun  :D
