do you still fly kites???
kites and toronto.......they dont really mix all that well  ;D
Atlanta is not a great kite city either.  Stunt kites are almost impossible near the city.  I became a pretty good light wind flier.  (single line)  After the president (and main organizer) of the kite club passed away and my friend Bobby Stanfield moved to the West coast I found my self flying less and less.
We were at the coast over a long weekend for a conference.  I got out my 80s vintage Peter Powell Stunt Kite and flew it for the first time yesterday.  We had quite a blow as hurricane Matthew was coming in.  Flew for over an hour and had a great time.  We left the island in on and off rain.  We're just a 5 hour drive from the coast and we are expected to continue in drought, while my nieces are in the direct line of the storm.

Jack I found this line chart. Spintastic sells # 36 line. For a 3 1/2 to 4.0 inch top I think # 48 would work good.
.078 ------ # 30 ------ 1.9812 MM

.085 ------ # 36 ------ 2.159   MM

.093 ------ # 42 ------ 2.3622 MM

.103 ------ # 48 ------ 2.616   MM

.116 ------ # 60 ------ 2.9464 MM

.125 ------ # 72 ------ 3.175   MM

.158 ------ # 96 ------ 4.0132 MM

.170 ------ # 120 ----- 4.318  MM

ill try and find a micrometer in a sec and see what my string dia. is.
i found that for a 3 1/2 in. john markus top my current diameter at 79'' long works rediculously well, it regen'd too well lol  ;D
