Sabaspin craftsmanship
« on: July 06, 2017, 12:15:23 PM »

Yesterday I got a box from Puerto Rico with a wonderful present inside. Sabaspin sent me a top he turned out of Blue Mahoe (Majó). It's a beauty!  8)  ;D
You can see it at the center of this photo, flanked by a bearing top by Eric Wolff on the left and a solid pegtop by Wayne Carson on the right.

I love the shape and how it matches the pedestal. The top is hollow with thin walls and has a diabolo tip. It plays like a delrin top!  :o

In a short time Sabaspin has become a master turner!   8) 8) 8)

Thanks a lot!!!

Jorge, Thank you for your words.

Here is a quick video of the top (just realized I forgot to put some music). It is almost a twin brother of another one I made for Mr. Neff.

Very nice looking tops. The magic starts at four inch to five inch TROMPOS. And then mixing woods. I don't think I will ever make another delrin top. They are just to heavy and wood has so much more color. I would love to make a BLOOD WOOD top, but after making a PURPLE HEART with the red dust going every where - that's enough for me. They use blood wood in dyes so when the wood dust gets wet it stains. KEEP GOING.

Thanks JMadrigal. If you ever want to make a trade for a printed top, let me know ;).

Cecil, I'll get to the 4-5" soon.  8)
