Getting back into throwing
« on: April 11, 2016, 12:43:04 AM »

Hey!  I'm just getting back into into tossing some tops. I haven't played much in ten years but was fairly active in the yoyo/top community. I used to go by the handle psychoflux.

Maybe some of you could point me in the right direction of some good sites to buy and learn from. I'm still mainly throwing my yyj's, spintastics trompo and a beautiful acrylic Eric Wolfe made for me.

Welcome back.

I'd say if there's nothing wrong with the tops you got, why change? I'm finding the Spintastics Trompo Grande and Trompo Bearing to be just fine. The Quicksilver Hybrids are probably a much better option in both fixed and bearing tips. I find as long as you have 2 tops you like, one being a bearing and one being a fixed tip, you've got all you need!

Hard to say which sites are the best to learn from for tops, but this is definitely the right place. Do some YouTube searches, you'll get a lot of results. There's also plenty here who want to help. I'm still learning myself.

Hi,
talking about tutorials, you can find some here:

If you want to buy some new tops, I would recommend Spintastics Quicksilver or Strummol8 STB2.5 or Giulia. You can buy them from official websites. I'm also S8 reseller, mainly for Czech Republic but if you want some S8 tops you can send me personal message here.

Welcome (back) Jamie!

The name physcoflux sounds familiar. If you want to change your handle, go to Profile => Modify Profile => Settings.
