there's nothing better than outdoors spots
about the throw i would have said the same as other players:
for large tops the "secret" is to let it unwind smoothly
and to skip tangles : to have the knot way past the maximum diameter
about your suggestion to change string : i've done it for a long time with big tops..the changing costs a bit of spin time but it is worth it for the tricks,considering the gyroscopic power of large tops
