Interesting. Based on how they show it being played with in the illustrations, it seems like it's a mini wooden diabolo or some sort of early attempt at off-string. I'm tempted to "buy it now" and try it at a 4A throw. Fixed axle 4A....

Looks like a diabolo to me. I have something that looks very much like it and I found it very hard to get it up to speed as a diabolo for tricks. For 4a the very wide spread weight should make it unstable and the axle will be the limiter. It may take a lot more practice than I was willing to give it.
