hello again

wednesday was the big day !
the top was there ready to spin
it took a loooonnnng  time before the last scene with the launch

Fernand the technician who had built the top, finally opted for a manual launch with the car serving only to support the stand... he had done several tries before, reaching easily 5minutes with only 14 feet of rope and one person to pull

the 1st launch:with 3 "helpers"who were the "candids" in the show supposed to maintain the top straight.....it was a total mess ,one young guy got a nice bruise on the leg ...the two girl didn't push the car back in time...
before the 2nd try , i advised the production to put the 3 "helpers" on chairs and to let Fernando and David the leader of the programme to operate
it was a successful launch, with a mild pull but regular: it spun for about 4 mn , long enough for everyone to realize what they were seeing ;--)

i have the video in my camera  , but I dare not put it on the tube because i have signed the copyrights papers, and the tv show will be aired only the 27th feb 2015 ...what can i do  to let you watch it ?the file is 240 M

Glad you made it through the program!

The top is not what I imagined but it sounds like it did the job.

Thanks for sharing the photos.  I look forward to hearing and seeing more!!!

This is going to be very nice exposure for tops and also you, The Master Toupieur de la France!  ;)

The top is nicely painted but the performance was underwhelming. Was the rope wound around the wheel hub? I looks like it had a radius of about 20 cm, so you would have to pull pretty fast to get any significant RPM.

You can always upload the video to youtube as Private and only give access to those who ask for it. But I really look forward to the final product.

Is the ITSA going to be in the credits? Hopefully we will have a website by that time.

yes Fernand quickly understood that it would lack torque without a larger diameter to wind the rope ... it was  either a strong pull with a short rope or a long regular pull, but  with at least 3 trained people to run while dragging the rope

i'll upload the video as private on the tube today
then i will give you my code to access and see it
then you could download it and put it on your personal website
so that it won't risk to be found by production people

yo!
