interesting book
« on: March 03, 2013, 12:53:49 PM »

hi all
i'd like to recommend you a book
it's called
"Shop Class as Soul Craft:an Inquiry into the Value of Work"
by Matthew B Crawford  penguin press 2009
there's a part of  story mixed with sociological and philosophical reflexions about the role of work/trade , craft , knowledge ,know-how , self reliance ...

i'm really into it : after the first 100 pages , i feel compelled to slow down the reading ;;--)

the title in French is " éloge du carburateur" / praise the carburetor
at one point ,the writer uses the tuning of a motorcycle carburetor to dismantle the mental processes involved....

passionating!

Sounds like a book Philippe would had recommended.  Can be found online used for $2 plus shipping or new for $10 and free shipping.

I would guess that Yocephus would also like this book.
