the weight is 33.4 oz or 948 grams the dimensions are about 8 inches wide and 10 inches tall. It has three bearings in the tip. I threw it inside because outside right now is ice and crappy snow and it would grind off the paint.

Sad day the floor at our church isn't very forgiving to MDF. I will have to rebuild.

Arghh!  Sorry to hear about this and sorry to see it.  Hope it glues back together nicely for you.

Hopefully you had some great catches just before this and you were doing so well that you pushed the envelope a little too far.  That way you have some great memories!!!

NFO now has three line where it has been reglued.  Each one is at a different place so the repairs are holding but the plywood seems to have a weakness.  Hope I do not have to repair it any more, i.e. no more drops on hard floor.

I love Spinningrays comments about gorilla glue and how it is so tough.  It holds and the wood is what breaks (in another place) on the next big drop.

Yes, REBUILD!!!  I would just use wood glue on the MDF, much cleaner and plenty strong.  I so wish MDF was a better material for tops because it is so uniform and so darn easy to cut.  :(

I used a high quality wood glue for it and it broke where there was no glue joint. I agree Neff the MDF is amazing to turn with but to fragile when it is thin. I think I will play around with Particleboard next I think it will be more stable.

Shame to see his great spin  :'(. Try to rebuild quickly and not be impatient and respect the established time for drying the glue, I have desire to see this spin turning.

That's a shame :'(

Can you use particle board for a top? And if so what kind? (The big splinter looking chunks or the smaller chunks) ;D

A little look at what i have been up to lately.
This is a Popular , Red Oak and Maple.

Here is the tip

I rebuilt my Osage Orange fixing the odd tip section.

Last but not least The Maxx. I took the time to put it together. I am in the process of repainting right now.
