I have good memories of Bastille......not the day but the area. When we were over there visiting Jim, I rented a bike and rode to the Pere Lachaise cemetery. Along there and back I went through the area where the Bastille used to stand. I took a few moments to reflected on some of the events that occurred there. What a historic place, indeed. I also vividly remember eating at a Subway near there and asking for American cheese. They looked at me kind of funny and gave me the one kind of cheese they had. I also made a big mistake when I asked for free refills on my drink. They don't do that kind of thing in the Subway stores of Paris.
