so im wondering should i redo the 24 patch? like Jack stated the trick i was performing was not a blizzard but full orbits. To be truthful at the time i didnt know the difference between blizzards and orbits. i thought it was the same trick just different names used. remember im a newbie and still learning the ins and outs of the wonderful world of spinning tops.

nahhh no reason to redo it, you did everything flawlessly!!! lol one trick out of 24 isnt a problem imho

hey so what is the best way to get a hold of Mr. Oliver?  I have e mailed him but not to sure if it has gone through.  i used the forum email option.  im itching to get a hold of those patches if he approves my video ;D.  im also wondering if he still sells tops directly to folks that are in the forum.  i noticed he had a sale on the hp hornets and blizzards in july im hoping i can get my hands on a few more tops to add to my collection. i dont want to be a bother to anyone just want to find the best way go about contacting Mr Oliver.

Yes, Dale has tops for sale (and on sale). Just call him at the phone number he gave on this thread: www.ta0.com/forum/index.php/topic,5018.0.html

I did not know the difference between orbits & blizzard either.  Dale accepted my video anyway. (orbits are harder to do)
To be picky:
You should do 3 hop the fence. I don't thing anyone will doubt that you could.
My interpretation of subway is different (start from the hand) but there may be many interpretations of the trick.
Well done!
On another thread it was mentioned that Dale is traveling.

i always try to pull off three reps in a trick. And hop the fence is the hardest one for me. i can pull off three every time with a bearing tip but the Trompo Grande fixed tip really tests my skills. While im talking about the Trompo Grande. Does anyone else have issues with the brass tip that comes on that top?  the head seems very sallow which causes friction due to rubbing on the skin in your palm. im thinking its time to pull that tip out and spin a new tip on the lathe.

Yes I have this issue and some other folks do.  I thick it depends on the shape of your hand.  You can call or email and buy from spintastics a different tip.  It goes by various names. "C" tip, Mexican tip, Salvador tip.  They do not wire walk quite as well but the regen great and spin well in any hand.

I received my patches today in the mail along with a few new tops for doing some twin spinning. Has anyone replaced the tips in the sidewinder or gladiator to make them more player friendly? Im super stroked to throw these new tops more. Its also time to try and get a few advanced tricks under my belt. Any ideas on what i should have in my bag of tricks ?

Maybe you could now add a on-string regen like barrel rolls or right half-orbits.

Keep bugging me to make a video. I have a simple mod to the Gladiator that really helps.  Note that the Gladiator and the Sidewinder are from the same mold.  The Gladiator has an added steel ring inside and a metal point. So you can put a Gladiator point in a Sidewinder and vice versa.

What needs to happen in order to add the virtual trick patch to one's signature?  Spinlynn, butterfingers and I all qualified in Miamisburg, and I, for one, would be proud to display the patch here....

You can actually do it yourself. Just go to Profile >> Modify Profile >> Forum Profile. Where it says Signature, add one or more of these image links:

Code: [Select]
(for the 8 trick patch)

(for 8, 16, 24 and freestyle)

Those are 100 pixels tall. Once you start to get more, you probably should consider smaller patches. For example, these are all the Spintastics, including the Instructor, at 72 pixels tall:
Code: [Select]

Note that the forum only shows your signature once per page.
